Welcome to The Art Shack, my name is Tracy David.

The Art Shack has been a longtime dream of mine. For over twenty years I worked in Corporate Procurement at various companies but I started college, my original plan was to become an art teacher. Life had other plans and after taking on a temp job at an Automotive company to help pay for school, I ended up with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Over the years, the thought of opening an art studio - one that was closer to home than more corporate job - always lingered in the back of my mind.    Whenever possible, I signed up for as many arts and crafts classes as I could find; jewelry making, scrapbooking, paint your own pottery and canvas painting just to name a few. After our daughter, Micah, was born this budding passion became all about toddler art classes, theme parties and events. All of these encounters with art provided an enjoyable creative outlet and many wonderful memories for our family. 

Art has always provided stress relief for me and has been worth the investment, each and every time. The only drawback of these classes, events, parties was the distance. Almost none of these activities were close to our home. I thought perhaps it was this drawback that created exactly the opportunity I needed!

After working in the fast paced, stressful corporate environment for so many years, I decided it was time to do something I was passionate about, something truly fulfilling. When the space on Jefferson became available,  the opportunity to combine my love of art and creativity with a welcoming and encouraging space - this close to home - was too good to pass up!  This is how the The Art Shack was born.
